The Badge Creation Process
Creating a perfect badge is an art that involves several detailed steps:
- Embroidery: We start by embroidering a piece of fabric.
- Cutting: Next, we cut out the shape.
- Backing: A backing is applied to make it nice and firm.
- Merrow Edge: Finally, a merrow edge is separately applied to the outside. This makes it nice, clean, and tidy, gives it that traditional badge look, and stops the fabric from fraying.

Southern Monograms have developed quite a strong relationship with a factory in China. This partnership allows them to get really good pricing for orders of a decent size. Typically, order quantities of 50 or 100 are the sweet spots for getting the best price through our indent option out of China. Woven Labels
Woven labels are another offering we get from our Chinese factory. Unlike traditional embroidered patches, woven labels allow for very intricate details that are impossible to achieve with embroidery.
Here’s what makes woven labels unique:
- Intricate Detail: The text can be extremely small and clear.
- Heat Iron-On Option: They come with an option to apply heat and press onto different textiles.
- Versatility: You can sew them on, press them on, or handle them yourself.
